description
Created by Charles and Ray Eames, the Eames® Molded Plastic Armchair Rocker is one of those iconic pieces that most of us design geeks have drooled over for years. Simple, elegant and playful, it is at home in any environment, from a traditional house to a modern loft. This rocker can hold its own in any room, and is sure to be the place where everyone wants to sit. Place a few on your porch and you'll be the hit of the neighborhood. Put one in your kid's playroom and they'll be fighting over who gets to take it off to college with them!
A landmark design from Charles and Ray Eames, these were the first industrially manufactured plastic chairs. The Eameses believed that comfort was as important as looks, and the molded plastic chairs have comfort built in. Their clean, simple forms cradle the body. The shell seats have high, contoured backs, deep seat pockets, and waterfall front edges so you can sit comfortably even for extended periods. For this rocker, the iconic Eames wire base is set atop simple maple runners for effortless rocking.
Good design never changes. Today's chairs are the authentic original design made with eco-friendly 100% recyclable polypropylene. And the chairs are now made in the United States, to reduce their manufacturing carbon footprint.
Pure Design is proud to offer you some of our favorite modern classics from Herman Miller. Our Herman Miller for the Home collection includes some of the greatest designs of the 20th century from legends like Charles and Ray Eames and George Nelson.
