GlassFest 2012
May 24th - May 27th, 2012

GlassFest 2012

For the third year in a row, Corning's Gaffer District enabled locals and visitors to spend their Memorial Day weekend celebrating glass and the fire arts! Live glass-blowing, local glassware vendors, a fireworks show, a wine-and-beer tasting, lots of live music, and the fantastic "Light Up The Night" event (for which Pure Design is the sponsor) help make GlassFest something to look forward to.

2012 Cool Kids! Eco-Fest
April 21st, 2012

GlassFest 2012

We helped kids celebrate the best holiday we can think of: Earth Day! Using eco-friendly finger paints, we designed an Alexander Girard-inspired sun to hang in the store, and also passed out coloring page coupons printed on recycled paper. Can't wait to participate next year!

Exhibit A 2012 Black and White Biennial
January 27 - March 16, 2012

Black and White Biennial Following the success of the first edition of Black and White Exhibit A is delighted to present the 2012 Black and White Biennial.

This exhibition presents a diverse range of works in black and white exploring a variety of mediums and conceptual intentions. An interactive media installation, 52 Card Psycho, by Geoffrey Alan Rhodes will be featured in the North Gallery. "It's exciting to get to show media art here in Corning. I saw this piece at the last Beyond / In Western NY in Buffalo and was blown away. I knew I wanted to share it here." says gallery director, Ann Welles. Geoffrey Alan Rhodes currently lives in Chicago and teaches at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Exhibit A's other galleries will exhibit paintings by Corning artist, Stefan Zoller; porcelain objects by Vicki Hartman of Rochester, figurative charcoal drawings by Elena Peteva, currently of Chicago IL; new work by Ithaca artist, Joshua Sperling; mixed media by Tricia Wright who lives and works on the Hudson River outside of New York; mixed media drawings by Buffalo artist Anne Muntges; and digital photography by Jason Cox who is best known in the area as a photojournalist but is now exploring a more creative side of his discipline.

Exhibit A gives special thanks to Pure Design for sponsoring the 2012 Black and White Biennial.
